Penis enlargement

According to research, many men are dissatisfied with the size of their penis and experience psychological or physical discomfort because of this. This leads to problems of a sexual nature, indecision in communication with women and the development of various complexes. The desire to gain self-confidence and harmonize intimate life forces a man to seek help from a doctor. There are many techniques that can eliminate this deficiency and feel like a complete man. These include both non-surgical procedures and surgical interventions. With the help of operations, you can restore the penis after injury or eliminate congenital anomalies.

How to achieve the effect

A man is satisfied with the result of the surgical enlargement of the penis

In modern medicine, there are different ways to enlarge the penis. Plastic surgery can change individual parts and abilities of the manhood or recreate it as an entire organ. As a result of the operation, not only an improvement of the external forms is achieved, but also the preservation of all its functions.

All known surgical interventions aimed at changing the size of the penis are aimed at increasing its length or thickness. To lengthen the penis, a ligamentotomy (dissection of the suspensory ligament of the penis) is performed. The following techniques are used to increase the volume and thickness of the penis:

  • penile prosthesis (implantation of a prosthesis in the body of the genital organ);

  • lipofilling (the introduction of one's own fat cells into the internal tissues of an organ);

  • inserting a collagen matrix (capsules that stimulate the production of your connective tissue);

  • installation of gel implants (between the skin and the shaft of the penis);

  • microsurgical muscle transplantation (transplantation of muscle tissue with the formation of an organ);

  • injections of hyaluronic acid (replenishing the missing volume).

As a result, turning to a specialist for help, a man receives:

  • restoration or maintenance of penile function;

  • providing aesthetic forms;

  • elimination of defects after diseases, developmental anomalies and injuries.

There are also non-surgical methods of penis enlargement using various devices and exercises. Extenders, expanders, stretchers and vacuum pumps are becoming particularly popular. However, doctors warn that their independent use for penis extension not only does not lead to the desired result, but is also fraught with damage to the corpora cavernosa, tunica albuginea, nerves and blood vessels, as well as erectile dysfunction.

Penis enlargement with exercise is also ineffective. They are massage movements in the form of stretching, squeezing and rolling. No studies have shown any benefit from them. In addition, the use of body-tightening exercises can lead to erectile dysfunction and damage to blood vessels, bruising and swelling in the penile area.

Indications for penis enlargement

Many men tend to underestimate the size of their reproductive organ. It is believed that its normal length in an erect state varies from 12-18 cm, its diameter is 3-3, 5 cm. The average length in men is 15. 7 cm. A penis less than 9 cm is considered small and less than 2 cm is considered a micropenis.

If you have any doubts or dissatisfaction with yourself, you should visit a doctor who, depending on the specific situation, will recommend one of the methods of a conservative procedure or surgical intervention. The operation can be performed both for aesthetic correction purposes and for medical reasons, which include:

  • small penis and micropenis;

  • congenital abnormalities of the urethra;

  • penile injuries;

  • traumatic amputation;

  • deformity resulting from diseases;

  • elimination of the consequences of operations on the male genital organs;

  • erectile dysfunction;

  • difficulty urinating;

  • gender change.

Contraindications

The main requirement before surgery is to assess your general health and identify possible contraindications. Surgical correction is not performed in the following cases:

  • age less than 18 years;

  • blood coagulation disorder;

  • acute infection;

  • sexually transmitted infections;

  • diabetes;

  • mental illness;

  • chronic diseases with severe pathologies.

Preparation for penis enlargement

With the help of surgery, you can increase the length and volume of the penis

After a man has decided to adjust the size of his penis, the question arises: which doctor should he consult? Penis enlargement surgery is one of the fields of reconstructive plastic surgery and urology. Plastic surgeons specializing in urology or andrology deal with issues of changing the size and shape of the male genitalia. A consultation with the operating physician is required before the operation. The doctor will suggest the necessary type of intervention, depending on the indications. This can be a complete restoration of the penis (total phalloplasty) or restoration of a part of the penis, changing its shape or size.

To avoid complications, the doctor prescribes a complete examination. The list of instrumental and laboratory research methods includes:

  • fluorography;

  • ECG;

  • general blood analysis;

  • blood chemistry;

  • coagulogram;

  • blood test for HIV, syphilis, hepatitis;

  • general analysis of urine;

  • a smear from the urethra to detect infectious agents.

After examination and exclusion of all possible contraindications, the doctor sets a date for the operation. During the operation under general anesthesia, a consultation is made with an anesthesiologist, who must be informed about the presence of allergic reactions and about taking any medication.

A few months before the procedure, you should stop smoking and drinking alcohol. In the preparatory phase, you should stick to a soft diet. 8 hours before the intervention, the pubic hair is shaved. If an operation is planned under general anesthesia, then at least 8 hours should pass after the last meal or liquid.

However, surgical correction is not always needed. If a man wants to enlarge the penis for aesthetic purposes, the doctor can recommend non-surgical methods - injections of hyaluronic acid, which do not require special preparation.

Performing penis enlargement

There are different types of operations to change the size of the penis. Each of them has its own indications, advantages and disadvantages.

Ligamentotomy

Ligamentotomy is the most popular type of penile enlargement surgery. It is performed under general anesthesia and lasts from 30 minutes to 1 hour. A small incision is made on the front surface of the scrotum. The suspensory ligament, which connects the genital organ to the pubic bone, is partially separated through it. After that, the penis is lengthened to 2-3 cm due to the release of the inner (hidden) part. Usually the operation is performed at the request of the man, it will not help with erectile dysfunction.

Penile prosthesis

The penile prosthesis is used to treat impotence or for the purpose of a complete plastic surgery during the removal of the penis or gender reassignment. Dentures are rigid and semi-rigid, two and three components. Solid prostheses are silicone tubes implanted in the corpora cavernosa. They provide a continuous erection, which is not always convenient. Semi-solid (plastic) prostheses have a special design and have plastic memory. Before intercourse, the prosthesis is extended, moving the penis from a pendent position to an erect state and then flexed again.

The most physiological are prostheses with two and three inflated and self-inflated components. They are a system of tanks and pipes. By pressing the scrotum, a special pump is activated, which fills the hollow prosthesis with air or liquid from a hidden reservoir. A three-part penile prosthesis more accurately reproduces a natural erection.

The operation is performed under spinal or general anesthesia. Its duration is about 1 hour. The location of the incision depends on the type of prosthesis - along the coronary sulcus (at the junction of the head and shaft of the penis), in the scrotum or under the pubis. Parallel canals are formed between the shaft and the skin to the root of the penis and the prosthesis is inserted. They increase the thickness of the penis up to 50-70%.

Lipofilling

This operation is performed more for aesthetic purposes. With the help of lipofilling, you can equalize the shape and increase the thickness of the penis by 2-3 cm. Due to the increase in gravity when the organ thickens, its length also increases in the non-erect state.

Local anesthesia is usually used for pain relief. Fat tissue is taken from the male's pubic area, abdomen, thighs or buttocks and injected along the shaft of the genital organ with a microneedle. The operation lasts 1 hour. If necessary, the patient can be left in the clinic overnight.

Introducing the collagen matrix

For aesthetic reasons, for the purpose of enlargement, special absorbable capsules (collagen matrix) are inserted into the penis, which stimulate the organ's production of its own connective tissue.

To do this, on the day of the operation, blood is taken from a vein in an amount of 50 ml to obtain stem cells, which are then planted in a matrix. After that, under general anesthesia, a circular incision is made along the edge of the glans penis and a collagen matrix is placed under the skin of the penis. It consists of two cylinders with a cut in the location of the urethra. Within 3-6 months, the matrix is resolved, but its connective tissue is formed in its place, so the increased size of the organ remains forever. The diameter of the penis can increase by 1-1, 5 cm. The effect of using matrices depends a lot on the individual characteristics of the patient.

Installation of gel implants

Silicone gel implants are installed under the skin along the lateral surfaces of the penis. With their help, it is possible to increase the thickness of the genital organ up to 1. 5 cm. The operation is performed under general anesthesia for 1 hour. These implants do not cause rejection or allergic reactions; it is impossible for them to penetrate the shell, even if it cracks. If necessary, they can be removed.

Microsurgical muscle transplantation

Microsurgical muscle transplantation is performed for aesthetic and medical reasons. For medical reasons, the operation is performed if there are consequences of injury, congenital pathology, previous diseases of the penis, micropenis, gender change due to hermaphroditism.

This operation is considered a complex surgical procedure and is performed under general anesthesia for several hours. Muscle tissue from the chest or abdomen is used as a transplant. The muscle flap is sutured to the penile tissue, the vessels and nerves are sutured.

In case of removal of the penis due to oncology or traumatic amputation, total phalloplasty is used. In this case, the body is created from scratch. This operation is also used to change gender. To do this, a flap of skin and a nerve is usually taken from the back, and the penis is shaped according to the model. Its size will depend on the wishes of the patient. A point for its attachment is chosen on the pubis, to which the muscles are sewn. After fixing the penis, the doctor microsurgically ligates the veins, arteries and nerve. Then, the surgical wound is sutured and the functioning of the nervous and circulatory systems is checked. The result is a penis that is similar in appearance and function to an organ that has not undergone surgery.

Hyaluronic acid injections

There is another non-surgical method for penis enlargement - hyaluronic acid injections. The drug is easily administered, distributes well in tissues and compensates for the missing volume. This method allows you to increase the length of the organ by 1-3 cm and the thickness by 3-5 cm. The procedure is performed with local anesthesia and lasts 10 minutes. Using a thin needle, a preparation based on hyaluronic acid is injected under the skin of the penis. Over time, its biological degradation occurs. The effect usually lasts up to a year. Then the procedure can be repeated.

Hyaluronic acid injections are also used to enlarge the penis. This procedure is indicated if the head diameter is equal to or less than the barrel diameter. To do this, with local anesthesia, 2-5 ml of hyaluronic acid gel is injected under the scalp.

Lengthening of the frenum – frenuloplasty

In some cases, men have a short frenulum (the area between the head of the penis and the foreskin). This can create discomfort or cause pain during intercourse. To eliminate this problem, frenuloplasty is performed. This operation is performed under local anesthesia on an outpatient basis. Using a scalpel or laser knife, the frenulum is cut with a transverse incision and then sutured longitudinally using self-absorbing sutures. The procedure takes 15-20 minutes.

After the procedure

After surgical correction of the penis, observation by a doctor is necessary.

The duration of the recovery period depends on the volume and type of surgery.

After ligamentotomy, the patient remains under observation in the hospital for 2-3 days. Sutures are removed after 2 weeks. After the operation, it is necessary to limit physical activity and sexual activity for 1 month. To achieve the greatest effect, you should wear a stretcher (or extender) for 6 months after the operation. It is designed to prevent repair of the cut part of the ligament. An extender is a special stretching device that is made individually for each patient. It should be used up to 6-8 hours a day for 2-6 months. It does not cause any particular discomfort when wearing. In this case, the length of the penis increases to 3-5 cm, it remains constant and does not change over time. The final result depends on the individual characteristics of the body. To avoid complications when wearing an extender, you must strictly adhere to the recommendations of doctors.

Penile prosthesis is considered a minimally invasive operation with a short rehabilitation period. After the operation, the patient stays in the hospital for 1 day. A sexual break for 1, 5-2 months is recommended.

The rehabilitation period after lipofilling lasts about 1 month. The operation is low trauma, so the recovery period is quick and without complications. To avoid damage to the transplanted fat cells after surgery, it is recommended to limit sexual activity for 2 months. Sports activities should be postponed for 1 month.

The postoperative period after the introduction of the collagen matrix is 2-3 months. The patient is under observation in the hospital for another 1 day. Sexual contacts are limited for the entire period of matrix resorption.

After placing the gel implants, the patient is observed in the hospital for 1 day. Sexual activity and physical activity are allowed after 1 month.

The recovery period after microsurgical muscle transplantation lasts 2 months. After the operation, it is necessary to stay under observation in the hospital for 2 weeks. Physical activity and sexual life are limited for 2 months. Urination is allowed only with the help of a catheter installed in the bladder. With total phalloplasty, the rehabilitation period lasts six months. During this time, the urination process begins and the erection is restored.

After hyaluronic acid injection, intimate contact is limited for 3-4 weeks. You should refrain from visiting saunas and hot baths for 2 weeks.

The rehabilitation period after frenuloplasty lasts 1 month. During this period, you should refrain from sexual intercourse.

In some cases, if you do not follow the doctor's recommendations, complications may appear. At the first suspicious symptoms, you should not postpone your visit to the clinic. Possible complications after phalloplasty:

  • narrowing of the urethra;

  • violation of the innervation of the penis;

  • erectile dysfunction;

  • reduction of the penis;

  • inflammation;

  • bleeding;

  • scarring and tissue deformation;

  • graft rejection.
